Explanation:
Consider original Length & breadth of rectangle is X, Y
respectively. So area=1XY
After increased length of 15% = X+0.15X=1.15X
After decreased breadth of 15% = Y-0.15Y=0.85X
So area of new rectangle=1.15X*0.85Y=0.9775XY
From these
1XY-0.9775XY=0.225XY
So the percentage of area decreased by 2.25%
