To update Magento, follow these steps: 1. Backup your website data and files. 2. Download the latest version from Magento's official website. 3. Extract the downloaded archive on your computer. 4. Replace the extracted contents in your live site's root directory. 5. Run the setup:upgrade, setup:di:compile, setup:static-content:deploy and cache:flush commands using SSH or a command line interface.
