Cognos Dynamic Cubes are in-memory data structures that allow for flexible reporting, analyzing, and aggregating of data based on user interactions. Transformer/TM1 cubes are pre-aggregated multidimensional data structures used for complex calculations and modeling within TM1 (an IBM planning and budgeting tool). PowerPlay cubes are proprietary to Microsoft Analysis Services and serve a similar purpose as Dynamic Cubes in Cognos, providing flexible analysis of data through a multi-dimensional view.
