Upgrading WordPress involves several steps: 1. Back up your website, 2. Download the latest version of WordPress from wordpress.org, 3. Extract the downloaded file to your local machine, 4. Using an FTP client or cPanel, upload the new WordPress files to your web server (overwriting the old ones), 5. Access your WordPress dashboard and update the database by clicking the 'Update Now' button under 'Updates' in the dashboard.
