Is fee income unrestricted income or restricted income?
Answer Posted / guest
Fee income arises from primary purpose (charitable) trading
(i.e. by charging fees for the provision of services).
Trading income is normally unrestricted as it is carried on
by the charity as a whole. Therefore fee income is normally
unrestricted. Restricted funds are created by donors
placing restrictions on their gifts and not from trading
income. If there are any further problems please contact
the Commission giving full details of the issue.
