When using Bean-Managed Persistence (BMP) in WebLogic, you can choose to use either the Weblogic JTS driver or a vendor-specific driver for database connections. It's not mandatory to use the Weblogic JTS driver, but it offers better integration with WebLogic features like clustering and connection pooling.
