Early blight of potatoes typically presents with small, circular, brown or black spots on the leaves first. As the disease progresses, these spots enlarge and merge, leaving a characteristic 'target' appearance. The undersides of the infected leaves may show yellow halos around the lesions. In advanced stages, the disease can also affect tubers, causing them to develop irregular brown or reddish-brown lesions.
