Microsoft's four layers of abstraction are: Infrastructure Services (IaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS), Software as a Service (SaaS), and Business Process as a Service (BPaaS). IaaS provides the most granular control over resources, while SaaS offers fully managed applications. PaaS and BPaaS fall in between these two, offering more or less management of the infrastructure and application respectively.
