YARN, which stands for Yet Another Resource Negotiator, is a resource management layer of Hadoop 2.0 that aims to provide sharing of resources across multiple applications and frameworks. It separates the ResourceManager from the JobTracker to allow multiple schedulers to manage and run their jobs independently.
