In weaving, the weft (also called the filling yarn) is the set of vertical threads that pass over and under the warp threads (longitudinal threads) to create a fabric. The weft interlaces with the warp threads to form a complete cloth structure. Its primary purpose is to provide additional strength and stability to the fabric while creating the desired texture, pattern, and density.
