Before applying the OS patch:
1. Ensure all GoldenGate processes are stopped on both the source and target systems.
2. Take a backup of the GoldenGate configuration files, log files, and repository database.

After applying the OS patch:
1. Restore the GoldenGate configuration files, log files, and repository database backups.
2. Start the GoldenGate services on both the source and target systems.
