In networking theory, various models have been proposed to explain different aspects of computer networks. The OSI (Open Systems Interconnection) model is a seven-layer model that describes how data is transmitted between devices in a network. The TCP/IP (Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol) model is another widely used model for the Internet, which consists of four layers: Network Interface, Internet, Transport, and Application.
