Regional Rural Banks (RRBs) are a category of Scheduled Co-operative Banks in India, sponsored by one or more Nationalized Banks. They were established to provide credit and other banking facilities in rural areas where it is not economically viable for nationalized banks. As of 31st March 2021, there are 56 RRBs in the country.
