ODBC (Open Database Connectivity) is divided into three main components: Application Programming Interface (API), Driver Manager, and Database Drivers. The API serves as an interface between the application and the Driver Manager; the Driver Manager manages multiple database drivers; and Database Drivers connect to specific databases.
