IP (Ingress Protection) represents the level of protection the equipment has with regards to the immersion of moisture/dust etc... inside the equipment. Basically, where the equipment can be installed (Indoor/Outdoor). The higher the number the better it is.
For hazardous areas (HA) an accordingly EX rated equipment must be installed according to HA Classification (Zone 1, Zone 2 & Zone 3 for liquids and gases and Zone 21, Zone 22 & Zone 23 for dusts)
