what will happen if dc is supplied in acb or mccb or other circuit breakers?
Answer Posted / aman kumar
Basically mcb /mccb work on electromagnetic induction so if dc voltage supply in it then tripping coil in mcb/mccb does not produce magnetic field and so not trip. so it was not work in short circuit condition
On other hand if overload current is high then bimetallic strip in mcb/mccb expand and disconnected the circuit.
