1. what is the power factor of a purely inductive load?
2. Which type of transformer connection is preferred in
case of power supply transformers?
3. In power transformer usually which winding is closer to
the core?
4. what will happen to the generated emf if the no. of
poles of an alternator is increased?

1. In AC circuits, the power factor is the ratio of the real power that is used to do work and the apparent power that is supplied to the circuit. The power factor can get values in the range from 0 to 1. When all the power is reactive power with no real power (usually inductive load) - the power factor is 0.
2. Star Delta Connection is used in both transmission and distribution networks transformers.
3. LV winding is placed near to the core to reduce winding insulation requirements.
4. If no. Of poles increased in an alternator it's EMF generation increases, speed decreases.
