Describe the Working of the Transistor?

Answer Posted / gulshan kumar

Transistor:-It is a device used for amplifying currents and performing other functions usually performed by the thermionic valve. It consists of a small block if germanium of silicon with two closely placed metallic point electrodes called the emitter and the Collector respectively on the upper surface. On the opposite surface there is a plane electrode of large area, called the base electrode. The emitter is kept at a positive and the Collector at a larger negative potential with respect to the base. The signal to be amplified or rectified is fed into the emitter circuit and the amplified or rectified signal appears in the collect circuit
