methanol replaced by pyredine.what hapend in that reaction.

when analysing aldehydes, ketones don't use methanol as a media.these componds reacts with methanol to form additional water.thats why we use pyridene or 2-propanol as a medium in case of determination of water content of acetone by kf reagent
