Material loss due to negligence or accident or what ever be it, is risk that has to be born by the employer. He may opt for any insurance cover to tackle such risks.
On the other hand if an employee loses his limb or life due to an accident inside an industry, he can claim benefits from the ESI if he is covered.
Or workmen compensation needs to be given by the employee, as per the guidelines given in the workmen compensation act.
