What is the function of trip neutral close switch?
Answer Posted / akhilesh solanki
TNC Switch is normally used for the breakers. This is not simple Control switch with spring loaded. The special features of the TNC Switches are as below.
1. Close can be done only after tripping the breaker. This is required to ensure that successive operation of closing coil can not be done.Required for safety of closing coil.
2. It can give status of last operation i.e. Close or trip.
3. As per standard practice Trip will always be on the left side and Close will be on the right side.
4. This can be locked in certain position mostly in Trip Condition so that it can not be operated
5. Some of the above listed features are requirement specific but a normal TNC switch breaker shall have all of the above except Point no. 4.
6. Normal Two / three position switch with spring loaded back to normal shall not be used as TNC Switch
