what is karl fischer principle and reaction ,describe it
Answer Posted / deepika hemant bankhede
A Quantitative chemical reaction between water and
Anhydrous SO2 and Iodine in the presence of Base(buffer)
that reacts H+.And the amount of water present in the sample is calculated
based on the concentration of iodine in the Karl Fisher
titrating reagent (i.e., titer) and the amount of Karl
Fisher reagent consumed in the titration. and the amount of Karl
Fisher reagent consumed in the titration. Macanism of action- H2O+I2+SO2+CH3OH+3RN=[RNH]SO4CH3+2[RNH]I
