Portuguese were fond of voyages and exploring new lands and they were the first people to find sea route to India through Bathalomew diaz and Vasco-da-gama.
When Franciso-de-almeida was appointed as the first governor of French possessions in India, he followed the policy of Blue water policy which means making Portuguese the strong trading power in Arabian sea and Indian ocean.
