In an examination, 35% of the students passed and 455 failed.
How many students appeared for the examination?
Answer Posted / amruta
100 percent students appeared for exam
from which 35 % passed
which means (100-35) = 65% failed
No. of students failed = 455
65% = 455
then 35% = ?
so by cross multiplication
? = (455/65)* 35
? = 245
so we got 35% is 245
Therefore total no. of students appeared for the exam = 245+455 = 700
