What is Harmonic affects in power system. what is unit of harmonics and how to measure it. how much value should be in power system.
Answer Posted / balajikamal84
Harmonics is the frequency distortion. If 50HZ is called no harmonics. More than 50HZ is called Harmonics. It is callisifies as 2 types. Even harmonics, ie 2nd,4th,6th etc. (50HZx2=100Hz). Odd Harmonics, ie 3rd,5th,7th etc (50HZx3=150Hz). Generally even harmonics will not affect the system. Odd only affect. It can be measure by instrument called Power Quality Analysier.

3 shows a 415 V, 3-phase generator supplying a 3-phase 415/110 V transformer. Draw the individual and combined impedance diagrams to a base of 10 kVA. Determine the system fault kVA and the fault currents at the 415 V and 110 V busbars for short circuit faults on the transformer input or output terminals. Work in p.u. values of impedances.
