1 hp single phase motor is more likely to get hot thsn inone hp 3 phase
motor its true or false? If true why?

True, because for single phase motor the current rating is higher than that of a three phase motor for same power consumption. Therefore the current density is also high for single phase motor and as we know, higher the current density higher it will be heated.
