dampers are nothing but the shock absorbers
like spring and also use to prevent the buckling effect of the spring. Best example is shock absoebers of bike. when bike passes over any hurdle spring get compressed and spring has property that when it compressed it relies the force twice to the compression to prevent this dampers are used which slowly moves up due to the spring force reduces and we didn't get the jerk
