Calculate the water content in Di Sodium Tartrate (DST) based on molecular weight?
Answer Posted / ramesh.s
Molecular weight of Disodium tartarate is (C4H4Na2O6.2H2O)=[(12*4)+(1*4)+(23*2)+(16*6)+(2(1*2)+16)]=230
Disodium tartrate is having two water molecules(2H2O)=(2(1*2)+16)=36
So that % of water content is (36/230*100)=15.66%
