what happens when the spark are introduced before the piston reaches maximum
Answer Posted / stub
Engine will work normally, some advance is required because it takes time for the flame front and compression wave to travel from the spark plug to the piston face.
However, if the advance is too great than knocking will occur with noise and possible damage.
Pre-ignition is where a cylinder is too hot, compression is to high or has excess deposits in it that cause the the mixture to ignite before the spark with teh same ill effects.
