why we use mostly 3-phase but not 4-phase and 5-phase what
is the difference between them
Answer Posted / skm
I had same doubt too. In indusrty sector three things are most important while choosing type of connection, i.e. 1. Quality, 2. Cost, 3. Reliability. Higher the phase higher the power delivery capacity and higher the efficiency. But as we use multi phase system the complexity of system grows higher with increasing number of phases. Also it is wise to use economical way to run the equipments. So as a standard three phase connections are preferred.
