I have TSO dataset profile set to automatic recovery on.
After the system disconnects unexpectedly, when I log back
on to TSO, I receive an error every time I go into edit
with 'automatic recovery' in the title. The options are 1.)
enter 2.) end 3.) defer 4.) cancel.
No matter which option I choose, I am thrown back into
the 'automatic recovery' screen the next time I go into
edit on any dataset. How do I get the message to go away?

As the error message states, your TSO session died while in the middle of viewing/editing a dataset. Next time you log on, TSO tries to recover that dataset. If the recocvery dataset exists, then you can recover and proceed editing where you left off. Otherwise, you can't. However, in this case the edit recovery switch still exists, that's why you keep getting the same message everytime you go to Edit.

To correct this, delete the member ISPEDRT from your TSO profile dataset (typically named 'userid.ISPF.ISPPROF'). This is the member that tells TSO that you have a dataset pending recovery. Once you delete this member, you will not get the message again.
