Question 29 – For a Vernier scale that consists of 0.11 cm per section, estimate the length on actual standard ruler of 0.1 cm per section for 2.39 m and 0.91 m.

Answer 29 : For 2.39 m, length on standard ruler = 2.39 - 0.99 = 1.4 m. For 0.91 m, length on standard ruler = 0.91 - 0.11 = 0.8 m. The second decimal numbers for both Vernier scale and standard scale should be the same. X is a solid having a white colour at room temperature. It has a density about 2g/cc. Although it has melting point near 325 degree Celsius, its properties start degrading above 260 degree Celsius. The coefficient of friction is very low about 0.1. It has very good dielectric properties especially at higher radio frequencies. It has a very high bulk resistivity. It is chemically inert. It is also resistant to van der Waals force. It is hydrophobic as well as lipophobic. Creep or ‘Cold Flow’ has been observed in X.
