Why is the RBC called as a cell even though it dont have all
the characteristic features of a complete cell?

In early stage orthochromatic erythroblast they have nucleus that is expelled when they become RED BLOOD CELL.they do not have the nucleus to limit the metabolic activity because are cell specialized in the transport of oxygen by heamoglobin. heamoglobin synthesis occur until they have the nucleus.
