how much brick,cement,and sand required in 1cum
brickwork(1:4)
Answer Posted / pradip mahato
Brick size 230mmx115mmx75mm (1:4)
volume of 1 brick= 0.00198cum
say 10mmthk mortar on brick layer
so vol of 1 brick 0.00255 cum
No. of bricks in 1cum = 1/0.00255 = 393 num bricks
volume of bricks for 1cum = 393x0.00198=0.778 cum
volume of cement mortar 1-0.778=0.22cum
add 15% for wastae=0.15 cum
add 30% for dry mortarof 0.3 cum
total=.15+.3=0.45cum
for cm 1:4 = 1+4=5
qnty of cement 1/5 x 0.45 = 0.09 cum
volume of 1 bag cement = 0.035 cum
cement=0.09/0.035 = 2.571 bag
sand = 4/5 x0.45 = 0.36 cum =12.715cft
