Difference between Relief valve & pressure reducing valve ?
Can we use pressure reducing valve instead of pressure
relief valve ?

Answer Posted / parthapratim ganguly

Pressure reducing valve will control or reduce the pressure on the downstream. It may not have any drain port, but it should accompany a pressure relief valve on the upstream.

Pressure relief valve will only provide safety of the upstream sytem. This must have a drain port leading the tank.
