what is the difference between id fans and fd
fans
Answer Posted / virender kumar
ID fan(Induced Draft Fan)basically pulls out flue gas from
the furnace of boiler. It is located between dust
precipitators(ESPs) and Chimney. Obviously it handles hot
air/dust. Whereas, FD fan(Forced Draft Fan)supplies the
required air into the furnace for combustion of fuel. It
handles air at normal temperature. The capacity/power
rating of ID fan will be more than that of FD fan
