Size of brick =230mmx115mmx75mm volume of brick= 0.00198cum thickness of mortar is 10mm size of brick =240mmx125mmx85mm volume of brick =0.00255 no. Of brick in 1cum =1/0.00255 =392nos. Volume of bricks in 1cum =392x0.00198=0.77793 cement mortar required = 1-0.77763=0.22237cum add 15% for wet mix =(0.15x0.22237) 0.22237=0.255cum add 1/3 for dry volume =(0.33x0.255) 0.255=0.34cum ratio 1:5 cement required = (1x0.34)/6=0.056cum 0.056x1440=80.64 =1.6 bags sand required = (5x0.34)/6=0.283 cum
