Marketing can be said as pull strategy , where you try to attract the customers. This is also a kind of awareness you build on to pull the customers towards the product by providing customers needs & wants.
Sales can be said as push strategy , where you make the customers buy the product even if they are not looking for. This is more over to generate revenue.
