why transformer rating comes in kva?

there is two types of losses occured in transformer which are copper loss and iron loss.Copper loss is always measured in ampere and hysteris loss measured in voltage so its rating comes in KVA.

I have 440v power coming to facility,( not being used ) can I buy large generator, (gas) to sell power back to electrical co.
Is it possible to measure correct value of earth resistance & cable insulation ristance with out disconncting earth lead & both sides of cable ends? If not, any other method to measure ER & CIR with out disconneting from the system.
