what is the difference between backward scheduling and forward
scheduling ?
Answer Posted / mahesh
Backward scheduling : System works backwards to ensure delivery of material happens as per customer required date. Eg: If a customer requires material by 31st July, system will throw up a date to create pick list / delivery atleast 6 days before which could be on 26th July (deducting transit lead time, pick pack time..etc) to ensure material reaches customer on or before 31st July.
Forward scheduling: System will confirm by when material will be available for dispatch. (Future date)...
