in a three pin socket y the pin of earthng is longer n
bigger...?
Answer Posted / sai nitish
As the resistance Is inversely proportional to cross sectional area, when ever a short circuit occurs a huge magnitude of current flows through earth pin.earth pin provides a low impedance path for the fault currents.due to this fact the earth pin is made bigger compared to others. Low impedance implies high current and higher cross sectional area
