Approach is the difference between WBT to Cooling tower outlet temperature.
WBT: - Wet bulb temp. is the minimum temp. that can be achieved (for water) in a place without any refrigeration effect.
DBT: - Dry bulb temp is the ambient temp.
Because our aim is to get the lowest possible temp, WBT is considered for CT approach calculations.
