According to co. act 1956,As per Schedule XIV -Dep rate for Data processing machines including computers if method is
1.WDV 40.00% or SLM 16.21% (p.a.).
Dep is charged per day basis.
AND
according to Income Tax Act 1961, Dep rate for computer is 60% on wdv basis other than some entity i.e. Railway & electricity deptt where SLM method is used.
Dep will be charged with half of 60% if it is purchased & put to use on or after ist oct.
