what is the basic difference between synchronous
motor,synchronous generator and induction motor
Answer Posted / b.arun prashanth
A synchronous motor and generator are constant speed machines and they are doubly excited machines where dc supply has to be given to the rotor ! and an induction motor always runs in a speed less than the synchronous speed ! if it reaches the synchronous speed torque = 0 hence current = 0 and the motor wont run !
