One 200 V, 100 W bulb is connected in series with primary of
a 200 V, 10 kVA transformer. If its secondary is
kept open circuited, then the bulb would have
(1) Full brightness (2) Poor brightness
(3) A little less than full brightness (4) More than full
brightness...explain
Answer Posted / ajayiet
when transformer secondary
is open it is at no load means
only no load current will flow
to supply the losses .but luk at
the rating of machine 10000
va so full load current is 10
kva/200 v i.e. 50 amp.now no
load current is 2 to 6 percent
of full load current i.e. 1 to 3
amp.resistance of lamp is 200
ohms so at no load wattage
i^2R is from 200 to 600
watt.so bulb will be
damaged.option is more
appropriate.
