cookies are stored the user data bye using client obejects when user on the site...cookies also two types,,persistent cookies which are set by expiry date those called persistent cookies...non persistent means which are not defined by expiry time those are called non persistent cookies(like session cookies).
advantages:if you want to open same page again...it will open quickly.
disadvantages:cookies having limited size,,any user can delete the cookies,,having secure problem because cookies are stored in plain text in client machine.
