if u don't know about the column..
i mean if u take new column....
it must & should it have 3500*L/d no of theoritical plates
where L=Length of the column(in Cm)
D=Diameter of partical
Example:if u hAve 150mm length with 3µm partical size column
then 3500*15/3=17500
that column must & should have 17500 theoritical plates
