An inverter is a crkt which only converts DC to sin wave AC. However some commercial dedicated Inverter also provides DC charging voltage for battery backup and uses these backup voltage to convert into AC, thus act as online UPS.
An UPS is consist following mandatory crkt:- Battery backup, rectifier crkt for charging battery and an inverter to convert DC to AC. All mentioned crkt are housed in one casing if the no of battery is less/ small but if the batteries more or size is more, battery bunk can be installed on seperate housing. Eg. 3 phase ups/ more than 1 kva ups
(all voltge value are as per design crkt)

HELLO EVERYONE, I RECENTLY HAVE FOUND ONE PROBLEM, I WAS TAKING NO LOAD TRIAL OF AN HT MOTOR 920 MOTOR , 1440 RPM , 6.6 KV, WITH AUTO TRANSFORMER. AT 450 V, LOAD WAS 40 AMP AND SPEED WAS 250 RPM. BUT AS WE INCREASE VOLTAGE FROM 450 TO 480V, LOAD BECOME 41 AND SPEED REDUCED TO SOME RPM . SO WHICH PHENOMENON ACTED HERE FOR REDUCING SPEED.?? AND IS IT HAPPENING ALWAYS OR IT IS RARE? I ALSO HAVE FACED SUCH PROBLEM WITH FEW LT MOTOR ALSO.

I have a drawing of a wound rotor induction motor for a crane. This crane motor has 5 forward speeds & 5 reverse speed implemented of course with different amount of resistance for each speed setting selected. What has got me scratching around is the fact that 8 of the 10 speed selections switch in uneven (unbalanced) amounts of resistances on each of the 3 connections to the motor's rotor. Can this be possible? I would have assumed this would produce unbalanced rotor currents and therefore vibration in the motor. I would greatly appreciate anyone's comments on this. Many thanks, Confused.
