Hi,
Surrogate are System generated sequential Values.
We use these keys to maintain the Historical data in EDW&
to set up relationship between Dimension Table & Fact Table.
It plays a key role in Maintain Historical data in EDW.
We prefer these Keys Even we have the Primary key Columns
in the Tables, since a customer may purchase several times
in a single day irrespective of time & Bill No. are
different.
In this situation we take these keys that give different
No. for several times Purchase in a single day.
