The difference of synchronous speed and actual speed of Motor.
See the rotor rotates by the torque generated because of magnetic field, in the induction motor the field is rotating magnetic field which rotates with synchronous speed (Ns=120f/P)hence the rotor rotates on the speed which is lesser than synchronous speed so the difference of synchronous speed and actual speed of Motor is the Slip.
